Sports After School Centre located in Dublin 15, 12 minutes from Luttrelstown and 4 minutes from the Aquatic Centre focusing on getting kids Moving after school.

Physical activity is a lot more fun when we’re physically literate. If we want children to be active for life, they need to develop movement skills at a young age.

Physical Education used to me a major player in the development of movement but in recent decades it has dived to near obscurity in terms of its role in improving physical well-being. Movement is now the least likely choice of children today and with a games-based curriculum being the only outlet the future looks really bleak.

The Coach House is a Sports After School & Development Centre leading the way in how we care for kids after school. Our primary focus is on exercise, movement, wellbeing and free-play. We take a holistic approach to caring and working with children by building the individuals confidence and self-esteem through physical exercise and play. We focus on the whole child.

We also understand that all children develop at different rates through the various stages and we must not force the process of learning. We realise that every child is gifted and each will unwrap their presents at different times.

Physical activity has a significant effect on academic achievement and research suggests that it improves academic performance. The evidence for the bodily benefits of physical activity is clear. At any age, regular exercise improves the health of our hearts, lungs, blood, bones, skin and almost every other organ. A growing body of research also shows that exercise can improve mental health. Yet despite this wealth of evidence, it remains a challenge for people to incorporate physical activity into their lives. Children are now sitting for 80% of their day. Children need to move. Exercise is good for the Brain. Sitting all day long kills the brain. Moving works your brain!

    • A lack of serotonin is associated with depression
    • Toxic levels of stress erode the brain or chronic stress levels shrinks certain areas of the Brain
    • Exercise unleashes a cascade of neurochemicals and growth factors that can reverse this process, physically bolstering the brain's infrastructure
    • Basically, the brain responds like muscles do, growing with use, withering with inactivity
Any child who attends our Centre will grow and develop through play, exercise and positive coaching. We also provide ample opportunities to play; supervised by caring and knowledgeable adults, who are helpers, not judges; and free age-mixing among children (age-mixed play is more conducive to learning than play among those who are all at the same level). At the Coach House we don't just hold your child, we grow them!

Fitness Classes for kids: 16:15 to 17:15
School Outing Programmes: 9.00am to 12.30pm
Full-time After School: 1.00pm to 6.30pm
Holiday After School 8.30am to 6.30pm

WEEKENDS:
Saturday: Autism & Dyspraxia Classes (12:00,13:00,14:00) Wednesday (6 to 7pm)
